Theory: A gecko in Trailer 2 is wearing Tommy Vercetti's shirt
More than a year after Trailer 2, a Reddit user pointed out a decorative gecko on a shop wall whose body looks like Tommy Vercetti's patterned shirt. It's on screen for under a second.

At 0:32 to 0:33 of Trailer 2, Jason backhands a shop clerk. On the wall behind them, to the left, hangs a painted metal gecko, the kind of tourist decor sold all over the Keys. Its head, legs and spiral tail are striped, but its torso is turquoise with small white flower-like dots. In June 2026, Reddit user WorriedSheepherder42 argued that the torso reads as a shirt, and specifically as Tommy Vercetti's.

We checked the frame. The gecko is there, and the torso really is coloured and patterned differently from the rest of its body, which does look like clothing. Whether it's Tommy's shirt is another matter. The pattern is small and blurry, and decorative geckos with dotted bodies are common. Given how much Vice City nostalgia Rockstar has put into official GTA VI marketing, it's plausible, but that's all it is.
