Your data, your choice
Privacy
GTA Culture is an independent fan publication. You can read News, Wiki and Map without creating an account.
Google account
If you choose to sign in, we keep Google's stable account identifier and email address privately to recognize your account and operate sign-in. We do not save your Google display name or profile photo, and we do not keep Google OAuth tokens after sign-in. Your Community nickname and avatar are generated separately and can be changed in your profile. We do not request your contacts, Drive files or password.
Sessions and your activity
We store a session so you stay signed in. The authentication system may record technical session information such as IP address and browser user agent for security. Notifications tell you when your post is reviewed, when someone comments on your post and when someone replies to you. Notifications are kept for 90 days, together with whether you have read them. Saved stories are not active yet. We do not need a log of every page you read to make the account work.
Community posts, comments and likes
If you submit a post, its title, text, tag and optional link are sent to our owner's private Telegram bot for review. Approved public posts show only your nickname and avatar color, never your Google name, photo or email. Rejected posts stay private to you and the owner. Comments appear publicly as soon as you post them, with your nickname. We store which posts and comments you like so we can show your likes back to you; other readers see only the totals. Reports are sent to our owner's private Telegram bot with the reported text and your chosen reason, but not your identity. You can remove your own posts and comments; deleting your account removes your posts, comments, likes and reports from the site. Telegram may retain review messages under its own service terms.
Analytics consent
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and how they find the site. It loads only after you choose Allow analytics in the cookie banner; until then no Google Analytics script runs. Analytics consent is separate from joining the community, and signing in does not grant it. You can use the whole site without accepting analytics.
When allowed, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier) and receives the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser type and an approximate location such as your country or city. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising signals stay switched off: we send the analytics consent only, with ad storage, ad user data and ad personalization denied. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings button in the site footer. Google explains how it uses this data at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Cookieless statistics
We also count visits with Umami, an open-source statistics tool that runs on our own server. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. For each page view it records the page, the site you came from, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and country, how long the page stayed open and whether you scrolled near the end. Your IP address is used only to work out the country and an anonymous visit identifier that changes every month; the address itself is not stored. These statistics stay on our server, are not shared with Google or anyone else, and only tell us which pages are useful.
Advertising
We do not show ads at the moment. If we add ads, they will be served by Google AdSense, and this page will be updated before they appear. Google and its partners would then use cookies to serve and measure ads, and, where you consent, to personalize them based on your visits to this and other sites. Readers in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland would be asked for that consent first. You can manage personalized advertising from Google at adssettings.google.com.
Settings stored in your browser
Some choices are saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers them: your cookie choice, reading preferences such as text size and theme, the map style, the console selected on the cheats page and the topics you open most, which the home feed uses to order stories. This data stays in your browser. The topic list is sent with home feed requests to order the stories, and is not linked to an account or kept in our database. Clearing your browser's site data removes all of it.
Services that deliver the site
The site is served through Cloudflare, which protects it and delivers pages and images. Like any web server, Cloudflare and our own server process your IP address and browser details to deliver each request and to block abuse, and our server keeps technical logs for security and troubleshooting. Sign-in uses Google. We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep data
Your reader account data is kept until you delete your account. Sessions expire or are revoked when you sign out or delete your account. An operational backup made before deletion may temporarily retain a copy until that backup is removed.
Delete your account
You can delete your account in Community settings after signing in. This removes the account and its associated reader data; security logs and backups may have their own limited retention. If deletion needs a fresh Google sign-in, the page will guide you through it.
