Florida References in GTA 6: Places, Businesses and Landmarks
Leonida, Vice City, Little Cuba and VC Port echo familiar Florida names and places in Rockstar’s official material. Some links are strong; others are visual comparisons made by local press or fans. This selection identifies where each game detail appears and rates the proposed real-world match. Rockstar has not confirmed most inspirations.

How did we build this list?
We only list things that appear in Rockstar's own material: the official GTA VI site, its screenshot captions, the Editions page and the three official trailers (Trailer 1 from December 2023, Trailer 2 from May 2025 and the Launch Trailer from October 15, 2026). Nothing here comes from leaked footage or leaked asset names.
The real counterparts are a different matter. Rockstar almost never names them, so each match carries a confidence label: High where the name or wording leaves little doubt, Medium where press or fans make a reasonable case, Low where it is a guess. Anything not marked High is fan analysis.

| GTA 6 business | Where it appears | Possible real-world counterpart | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|

[4][5][6][3][8][12][13][17]Which real landmarks does GTA 6 echo?Unconfirmed
- The VICE CITY sign by the runway. Rockstar's screenshot of a jet over giant VICE CITY letters resembles a Miami movie prop that never existed as a permanent landmark: the MIAMI sign built as a prop for Bad Boys and Transporter 2. Medium.
- Twin bridges in the Keys. Trailer 1 (about 0:36) shows a busy road bridge next to an older, narrower span, the layout of the Seven Mile Bridge and the Old Seven Mile Bridge. Medium. See the Leonida Keys in real life.
- Causeways and towers. Miami New Times picked out takes on the Venetian Causeway, with a stepped condo tower like the Venetian Isle building, the Rickenbacker Causeway to Key Biscayne, 500 Brickell's twin towers and the Marquis building in Trailer 1. Medium.
- Interstate 404. Trailer 1's highway signs point to "VCI Airport", Vice City International, along a route that matches Miami's road west past the airport. Medium for the route.
- Airboats and gators. Three of the four Grassrivers images on Rockstar's location page feature airboats, the classic Everglades tour boat. High. See Grassrivers in real life.
Which Florida pop-culture nods are in the trailers?Unconfirmed
Florida's internet reputation is in the trailers too.
- "Florida Man" clips. Trailer 1's run of phone videos, from about 0:40 to 0:59, includes an alligator hauled out of a backyard pool and a woman dancing on the roof of a moving car. Miami New Times traced the car clip to a real 2017 video on the MacArthur Causeway. Our Trailer 1 viral clips theory matches each clip.
- The "Florida Joker". A face-tattooed mugshot at about 1:05 was read as a nod to Lawrence Sullivan's viral 2017 booking photo, and Sullivan himself claimed it, as the Tampa Bay Times reported. Medium, and Rockstar has said nothing.
- Fake alligators at mini golf. One of Cal Hampton's official images shows him playing a mini golf course decorated with fake gators, the kind of course found along Florida's tourist strips. That is our reading; no single course is implied.
We found no Leonida parody of VISIT FLORIDA, the state's official tourism marketing agency, in Rockstar's material as of October 20, 2026. Rockstar's site plays the tourist board itself: its "Only in Leonida" section offers "a few of the must-see destinations across the sunshine state", each with a slogan such as "Gateway to Paradise" or "Welcome to the Wetlands". Florida has used "The Sunshine State" as its official nickname since 1970.
[5][8][21][1][19][18]Which Florida references have not been shown?Unconfirmed
Rockstar has not shown an Orlando theme-park counterpart. Game Informer asked Rockstar whether Central Florida and its attractions would appear, and Paul MacPherson, senior vice president of environment art, answered, as quoted by Dexerto: "So, while we may not have those exact locations, everything we have is geared to getting that full Florida experience!" None of the six regions Rockstar has named is an Orlando stand-in, and no theme park appears in the official material. That could still change with small jokes in the finished game, but the available material does not establish whether the finished game contains a theme-park parody.
For where each region sits, see our GTA 6 map guide. We will add new references once the game is out on November 19 and the signs, shops and billboards can be read in person.
