Overview

The Extended Look gave GTA VI its first long stretch of driving, and the car doing the driving is a small red convertible. GamesRadar identifies it as an Ubermacht Sentinel Classic. Jalopnik agrees on the Sentinel name and calls it "a red BMW E30 3 Series-ish Convertible".

Rockstar has not named the car in text, so the model name here is a press identification. The car itself, and the fact that Jason and Lucia use it, comes straight from Rockstar's own footage.

Where it appears

GamesRadar describes Jason and Lucia getting into the car outside their apartment and notes that it "appears several more times in the Extended Look, suggesting it's their main vehicle for at least part of the story". As they leave the parking lot, the roof folds away. GamesRadar calls it "a fully working retractable soft top".

Jalopnik places the car right after a lifted F-150 lookalike in the running order and describes it as "our first look at driving gameplay in a ride that seemingly belongs to Jason". Jason puts the top down and drives through Vice City traffic full of recognisable real-world lookalikes, from a Dodge Challenger and Charger to a Range Rover and a purple C7 Corvette.

Real-world inspirationUnconfirmed

Jalopnik's read is the BMW E30 3 Series convertible, and the proportions match: a short, upright sedan-based body with a squared-off nose and a fabric roof. Ubermacht is the series' German luxury brand with a BMW flavour, so the badge and the shape point the same way. Rockstar does not confirm real-world sources for its cars.

History in the series

The Sentinel Classic is not new. Rockstar added it to GTA Online in December 2017 alongside the Festive Surprise 2017 event. Jalopnik points out that the GTA Online car is a hardtop, so a factory-style convertible is new for this nameplate. That is a small but real sign of how much the GTA VI garage expands on its GTA Online predecessors.

What it suggests about gameplayUnconfirmed

Two things stand out. First, the roof is animated and works in gameplay, so convertibles carry over as a playable feature. Second, giving Jason and Lucia a modest, older convertible, rather than a supercar, fits Rockstar's framing of the pair as small-time crooks at the start of the story. Whether the car is one you own, can store or can lose is not covered in the Extended Look, so those details stay unconfirmed until launch.
