How old is Jason Duval?

Rockstar has not revealed Jason Duval's age: his official GTA 6 profile gives no age, birthday or birth year. The only time clue in the bio is that he did "a stint in the Army trying to shake off his troubled teens", which places his service after a troubled youth but gives no year.

As of October 17, 2026, we have not found an age in Rockstar's other GTA VI material either, so any exact age or birthday you see online is a guess. Dazed, writing from interviews and material supplied by Rockstar, describes him simply as "an ex-military drug runner". We will add an age here only if Rockstar or the game states one. His service is covered in Jason's Army service.

Who is Jason Duval in GTA 6?

Jason Duval is one of the characters named in Rockstar's official setup for Grand Theft Auto VI. His character profile opens with a simple ambition: he wants an easy life. The same profile places him in the Leonida Keys, working for local drug runners.

The available official material establishes a small part of Jason's past and his current circumstances. It does not provide a complete biography or resolve where his story will lead.

What is Jason Duval's backstory?

Rockstar says Jason grew up around grifters and crooks. It also says he spent time in the Army while trying to leave his troubled teenage years behind. The profile later places him in the Keys, working for local drug runners.

The cited sources do not specify his age, birthplace, Army role, length of service, discharge circumstances, or any combat history. Those details should not be inferred from the short official description.

Current circumstances

Jason’s situation in the Keys includes a housing arrangement with Brian Heder. Rockstar says Brian lets Jason live rent-free at one of his properties in exchange for helping with local shakedowns.

This confirms an arrangement between the two characters. It does not establish how long it has existed, whether Jason can leave, or any wider terms beyond what Rockstar has stated.

Who is Jason Duval connected to?

Cal Hampton is described by Rockstar as Jason’s friend and a fellow associate of Brian Heder. Jason’s profile also says that meeting Lucia could be the best or worst thing to happen to him, while leaving the outcome open.

These descriptions establish named connections. They do not define a relationship timeline, hierarchy, or future conflict.

Official story setup

Rockstar’s official premise says that an easy score goes wrong for Jason and Lucia. The pair are then drawn into a criminal conspiracy that stretches across Leonida and must rely on each other to survive. The partnership carries into gameplay as well: under the GTA 6 wanted system, police can know whether Jason and Lucia are together, and Rockstar says splitting up helps lower police attention.

This is public pre-release story setup. It does not disclose the score itself, later campaign events, or story outcomes.

In the Launch Trailer

Rockstar released the Launch Trailer on October 15, 2026, and it opens with Jason talking about his past. TechRadar and GamesRadar+ both describe him narrating his time in the Army, and GamesRadar+ sums it up as "a less-than-glamorous military departure." Rockstar's own text for the trailer does not mention the Army. What is known about his service is collected in Jason's Army service.

GamesRadar+ notes that Jason wears his hair long for much of the trailer, and both outlets describe a short-haired Jason stepping out of a helicopter in another shot. Rockstar has not said which parts of the story the two looks belong to.

Unspecified details

The cited official sources do not specify Jason’s full family history, criminal specialty, the exact terms of his work for local drug runners, or the nature and timeline of his relationship with Lucia. They also do not establish any undercover, police, or informant connection.

Future official material may add to this profile. Until then, these details remain unspecified rather than unconfirmed facts.
