Theory: Manni L. Perez is the actress behind Lucia in GTA 6

Who plays Lucia in GTA 6?Unconfirmed

Officially, nobody yet. Rockstar's People & Places page tells Lucia's story, from the father who taught her to fight to her time in Leonida Penitentiary, but it credits no actor, and Rockstar has not published a cast list for any GTA 6 character. The only performer to talk about the game on the record so far is Stephen Root, who told the Associated Press in September that "you're going to see me in that," as Dexerto reported. No one has said anything similar about Lucia.

The name fans keep coming back to is Manni L. Perez, a New York actress with a string of TV guest roles. That is a theory built on resemblance and circumstance, not a credit. For what Rockstar has actually confirmed about the character, see our Lucia Caminos profile.

Why do fans think it's Manni L. Perez?Unconfirmed

The theory took off within weeks of Trailer 1 in December 2023, and it rests on four things.

• Her face. Side-by-side images of Perez and Lucia's close-ups from the trailers spread quickly, and Sportskeeda wrote that she "resembles Lucia Caminos quite a bit." Rockstar does build its leads on real performers, as it did with the three GTA V protagonists.
• Her voice. Fans cut clips from her TV work, such as her 2019 episode of Chicago P.D., and played them against Lucia's lines from the trailers.
• Her history with Rockstar. She voiced one of the two blackjack dealers added to GTA Online with The Diamond Casino & Resort update in 2019, as Dexerto and Sportskeeda both note. Rockstar has promoted small-part actors before: Shawn Fonteno voiced a Grove Street gang member in San Andreas before he became Franklin in GTA V.
• Her birthday post. In September 2026 she shared a birthday photo on Instagram, and the comments filled up with Lucia comparisons, with fans calling her "Lucia IRL" (Khel Now). We are not reproducing her personal photos here.

None of this is proof. A resemblance between a real person and a digital character is the weakest kind of evidence, since lighting, angle and art direction can make two faces look alike, and a GTA Online voice credit only shows she has worked with Rockstar before.

Who is Manni L. Perez?Unconfirmed

Perez is a New York-based actress whose work so far is mostly guest roles in network and streaming TV. Her best-known part is Esperanza Morales, a boxer in the 2020 Law & Order: SVU episode "Redemption in Her Corner." That role won her Best Supporting Actress - Television at the 35th Imagen Awards, which honour Latino talent in film and TV.

Her other credits listed on IMDb and in the outlets covering the theory include:

Fans also point out that Law & Order has featured other Rockstar actors, including Ned Luke and Steven Ogg, who played Michael and Trevor in GTA V. A long-running New York crime show has cast a large share of the city's working actors, though, so that link counts for very little.

What has Manni L. Perez said?Unconfirmed

Very little, and nothing that settles it. Sportskeeda quotes her from an older interview: "Right now I've been transitioning my career into voiceover and motion capture." Fans took that as a hint, but she does not mention GTA or Rockstar.

Accounts of whether she has denied the role differ. Sportskeeda reported in 2023 that she had denied doing any voice-over work for Grand Theft Auto, without quoting her, while Player. One wrote in September 2026 that she "has never publicly confirmed or denied the theory." We could not find her own words on it. Dexerto noted in September that her official social accounts carry no link to GTA or Rockstar.

Have other actresses been named as Lucia?Unconfirmed

Yes. Perez was not the first name to go around.

• Alexandra Echavarri was linked to Lucia in late 2023. She then posted on Instagram that she had voiced Lupe, the warehouse manager in GTA Online, and when fans asked about Lucia she replied: "I am NOT in GTA VI" (Uproxx).
• Ana Esposito, another New York actress with a Law & Order credit, drew side-by-side comparisons after Trailer 1 before attention moved to Perez (Sportskeeda).

Rockstar has not commented on any of these names. Jason's actor has not been announced either; our Jason Duval profile sticks to what Rockstar has said about him.

When will we know who plays Lucia?Unconfirmed

Probably on launch day. GTA 6 is due on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar's games list their cast in the credits. The answer could come sooner if Rockstar names its cast or another actor follows Stephen Root and speaks up, but there is no sign of that yet.

Until then, the Perez theory is a well-argued guess. Our GTA 6 characters guide lists every character Rockstar has officially named, and we will update this page once the credits are out.

More easter eggs

• Theory: Nine1Nine could nod to Miami's E11EVENA seaplane in Trailer 1 tows a purple Nine1Nine banner with the line "Why sixty nine when you can Nine1Nine", and the club shows up again in Trailer 2. Its number-name invites a comparison with Miami's E11EVEN, which answered with a parody trailer of its own. Rockstar has not named a model.
• Theory: One-Eyed Willie's mod shop is named after The GooniesThe Ultimate Edition's off-road garage, One-Eyed Willie's Mod Shop, shares a name, nearly, with the pirate whose treasure drives The Goonies (1985). Rockstar's images show no pirate theme, and the name works as a crude joke too.
• Theory: Raul Bautista's cover art outfit echoes Lance VanceOn GTA VI's official cover art, bank robber Raul Bautista wears a pale blazer over a purple shirt. Fans see Lance Vance, Tommy's partner-turned-traitor in Vice City, but Rockstar's own 2002 Lance artwork has the colours the other way round.
• Theory: The Ammu-Nation pitchman in Trailer 2 is Phil CassidyThe gun-shop commercial in Trailer 2 is for "Phil's Ammu-Nation", and the pitchman wears a PHIL'S tank top. That name makes the Phil Cassidy theory much stronger, but the man on screen has two arms and looks decades too young.
• Theory: The face on Uncle Jack's door is Red Dead's Everett MorganFans matched the moustached face on Uncle Jack's door in Trailer 1 to Red Dead Online's Everett Morgan. A stronger match may be closer to home: the face logo of Flanigan's, the South Florida chain behind Big Daddy's liquor stores.
• Theory: The Vice City airport sign copies Hollywood's fake MIAMI signRockstar's official screenshot of a jet skimming giant VICE CITY letters by the airport looks lifted from Bad Boys and Transporter 2. Those films showed a huge MIAMI sign by the runway that never existed.
