GTA 6: Everything Confirmed Before You Play

When and where

GTA VI is "Coming November 19, 2026" on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar's page adds that it "plays best on PlayStation 5". A PC version has not been announced. Pre-load opens on November 12.

The story setup

Rockstar's pitch: "Vice City, USA. Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida..."

You play as two people:

• Jason Duval: "Jason wants an easy life, but things just keep getting harder."
• Lucia Caminos: "Fresh out of prison and ready to change the odds in her favor, Lucia's committed to her plan - no matter what it takes."

Leonida and its six regions

Leonida is the fictional state around Vice City, "home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond." Rockstar has named six regions: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. Our interactive map shows them on an illustrative layout, with sources for every place.

The named characters so far

Beyond Jason and Lucia, Rockstar's People section introduces Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, the Real Dimez duo (Bae-Luxe and Roxy), Raul Bautista and Brian Heder. Brian's wife Lori is mentioned in his profile. Each has a page in our wiki.

• An Extended Look: August 27, 2026, which Rockstar says was "captured entirely from in-game footage on the PlayStation 5"

Rockstar has also announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, made with Atlantic Records and due on November 19.

What Rockstar has not said yet

• A PC version. Not announced.
• GTA Online for GTA VI. No official statement. The GTA+ pre-order bonus mentions a GTA Online character's bank account, but Rockstar has not announced an online mode for GTA VI.
• Cheat codes. None confirmed. See our cheats page, which only lists codes after we check them in the game.

Anything you read about these elsewhere before launch is not confirmed by Rockstar.
