Official profile

Rockstar introduced Raul with the rest of the supporting cast when Trailer 2 launched on May 6, 2025. His biography reads: "Confidence, charm, and cunning - Raul's a seasoned bank robber always on the hunt for talent ready to take the risks that bring the biggest rewards." The second half adds the catch: "Raul's recklessness raises the stakes with every score. Sooner or later, his crew will have to double down or pull their chips from the table."

He is the most openly professional criminal in the announced cast. Brian Heder lets others do the dirty work and Boobie Ike hides behind legitimate businesses. Raul's job is the robbery itself.

Rockstar's four images of Raul are captioned: "Raul holding a phone to his ear. In the background a person is sitting in front of two computer monitors"; "Raul driving with one hand and holding a handgun hidden with the other. A bag full of cash sits open next to him in the passenger seat"; "Raul crossing his arms while on a boat near the throttle"; and "Raul wearing a suit looks off into the distance. In the background people walk down a neon-lit sidewalk."

His pull quote fits the gambler in the biography: "Life is full of surprises, my friend. I think we'd all be wise to remember that." The person at the monitors behind him is not named.

Cover art and styling

Rockstar's description of the GTA VI cover art lists Raul Bautista among the characters around the logo, alongside Jason, Lucia and Boobie Ike. Dazed's Autumn 2026 cover story calls him a "suave bank robber" and credits his look in one of its images to a vintage shirt by Nola and glasses by This/That. Miami stylist Jillian Carr, who has worked on the game's fashion since 2023, told Dazed that "Vice City is built around vanity." Raul's suits and boat shots fit that brief.

A fan theory that his cover-art outfit nods to Lance Vance from GTA: Vice City has its own entry and is not confirmed by Rockstar.

In the Extended Look

Rockstar's gameplay video, released on August 27, 2026, includes Raul. In GamesRadar+'s live coverage, a job Brian Heder hands Jason and Lucia "turns out" to be "a surprise getaway gig." Lucia then has to lose the police "after Raul, who they are escorting, gives her a pep talk about how she could be a 'professional' at crime." The pair torch the car and switch to a van to escape. It is the first on-screen sign of Raul recruiting the protagonists.

In the Launch TrailerUnconfirmed

At about 1:02 of the Launch Trailer, released on October 15, 2026, a long-haired man in glasses, with a goatee and a pendant on a cord, stands at night with one foot on a man lying on the ground. He is eating a drumstick from a red and white striped bucket of fried chicken. A short-haired Jason stands to the left, and a woman in a silver corset with a pistol in her hand stands to the right. Behind them are a wooden construction fence with a "Schott" sign and the lit grab of a demolition excavator.

The trailer never names him. His face, hair, glasses and necklace match Rockstar's official portrait of Raul, and TheGamer's write-up of the trailer also reports a brief Raul appearance, so we think it is him. The woman looks like Lucia, but the trailer does not say so either. The bucket carries no visible brand, so fan posts calling it KFC are guesses, and the trailer does not show why the man on the ground is there.
