GTA 6 DualSense Controllers: Black and White Limited Editions

What are the GTA 6 DualSense controllers?

They are two limited-run PS5 controllers themed on Vice City: the DualSense Wireless Controller - Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition and the White Limited Edition. Sony revealed them on the PlayStation Blog on September 3, 2026, in a post written with Rockstar.

This is the only GTA VI hardware Sony has announced. Both are regular DualSense controllers in a custom finish, and they go on sale on November 19, the day the game launches.

What is the difference between the Black and White editions?

Only the colour and how you can buy them. Sony says the Black edition "captures the energy of Vice City's iconic nightlife" and the White edition "embodies Vice City at daybreak".

Everything else is shared. Both have what Sony calls "a shimmering, color-shifting finish" meant to mix sunset colours with neon, palm tree details "molded directly into the controller", and official Grand Theft Auto VI branding. Both cost the same.

The practical difference is where you buy them. The Black edition is a PlayStation Direct exclusive in the countries where that store operates, while the White edition is also sold through other retailers. The where to buy section has the details.

How much does the GTA 6 controller cost?

Each controller has the same recommended retail price, whichever colour you pick. These are Sony's figures from its two September 3 blog posts:

Sony has not published prices for other countries, such as Canada or Australia, in its announcement, so check a local retailer for those. Retailers can set their own price, and resale listings are not covered here.

When is the release date, and when did pre-orders open?

Both controllers launch on November 19, 2026, the same day as GTA VI. Sony says exact launch dates and availability "may vary by country/region".

Pre-orders opened on September 10, 2026. On direct.playstation.com, Sony specified 7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET in the US and 10:00 a.m. local time in the listed European countries. Sony says eligible PlayStation Direct pre-orders get free launch day delivery. In Portugal, Sony pointed buyers to playstation.com/store/hardware.

Where can you buy the GTA 6 DualSense?

It depends on the colour and the country. Sony lists direct.playstation.com in ten countries: the US, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

So if you are in one of these ten PlayStation Direct countries and want the Black one, a listing at another shop is not an official channel for that edition. Sony describes both editions as "limited quantities".

Are the GTA 6 controllers sold out?Unconfirmed

We could not verify live stock. The dated reports below describe earlier availability, not current stock. Sony has not published a stock update.

On September 11, GamingBolt reported long queues and checkout errors on PlayStation Direct when pre-orders opened, and said US retailers such as Best Buy and GameStop ran out quickly. On October 7, the German site netzwelt reported that the controller was sold out at Amazon, MediaMarkt and Sony in Germany, with the White edition still offered on Otto only by a third-party marketplace seller at a markup.

Check the current seller listing for availability. A price above Sony's recommended retail price does not by itself establish that the seller is a reseller.

Does the controller come with a game code?

No game code is mentioned. Sony's announcement covers the design, price, date and where to buy, and says nothing about a copy of GTA VI, a voucher or in-game items. Buy the game separately. Our GTA 6 Standard vs Ultimate Edition guide covers what each edition costs, and how to pre-order GTA 6 covers the stores.

These are standard DualSense controllers, not DualSense Edge pro controllers. Sony has not announced a GTA VI DualSense Edge or any other GTA VI accessory.

Is there a GTA 6 PS5 bundle?Unconfirmed

Not an official one. As of October 25, 2026, Sony and Rockstar have not announced a PS5 or PS5 Pro console bundled with GTA VI. The September 3 controller post is the only GTA VI hardware announcement on the PlayStation Blog.

Some retailers sell their own packages anyway. On October 20, netzwelt reported that Otto in Germany was taking pre-orders for three PS5 packages paired with GTA VI as a download code. These are a shop's own combinations of a console and the game, not a Sony bundle, so the price and contents are whatever that retailer sets.

If Sony announces a real bundle before launch, it will appear on the PlayStation Blog, and we will update this page. Whatever console you use, the game needs space for a full download, which our GTA 6 storage guide covers.

Is there a GTA 6 Xbox controller?Unconfirmed

No. GTA VI launches on Xbox Series X|S on the same day as PS5, but Microsoft and Rockstar have not announced a GTA VI Xbox Wireless Controller as of October 25, 2026. The only official GTA VI controllers are Sony's two DualSense editions, and they are PS5 controllers.
