GTA 6 Easter Eggs From GTA 5, Vice City and Older Games

Which older GTA games does GTA 6 reference?

Vice City (2002) gets the most callbacks, which makes sense for a game that returns to the same city. GTA 5 and the wider series show up in brands, shops and props. This table lists Rockstar-named returns and recognizable elements visible in official footage. A visible similarity does not by itself establish that Rockstar intended a deliberate homage. Each detailed page explains its evidence.

What are the Vice City callbacks in GTA 6?

The Vintage Vice City Pack, the pre-order bonus for both editions, is built around the 2002 game. Its main screenshot puts Jason and Lucia under the sign of the Ocean View Hotel, Tommy Vercetti's first safehouse, with a two-tone '55 Stanier parked outside. Its resemblance to the yellow-and-white sedan outside the hotel in the 2002 game is an editorial comparison, not a stated Rockstar homage. The pack's weapon pattern is described by Rockstar as inspired by Tommy's palm tree shirt, and our Original Kingpin page covers that wording.

The Ultimate Edition goes further: Rockstar says the Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers were sourced from the Vercetti Estate, Tommy's island mansion. Map names carry over too, with Ocean Beach and Washington Beach back under their old names, and Flash FM returns as the only one of the six announced stations that played in Vice City. In Trailer 1, a white Cheetah on the neon strip wears a CH33TAH plate.

What are the GTA 5 callbacks in GTA 6?

Several familiar GTA brands and props reappear, mostly in Trailer 1. Their presence is visible; Rockstar has not labelled every one a deliberate GTA 5 homage. A man in the High Rollerz Lifestyle clip wears a Righteous Slaughter shirt, the Call of Duty parody Jimmy De Santa played nonstop. In the liquor store robbery at the end, the fridges hold Pißwasser and Logger, two of the series' house beers, each with a new variant. Ammu-Nation, the gun shop chain that has been in GTA since 2001 and was a staple of GTA 5, gets its own TV commercial in Trailer 2.

Which callbacks are only theories?Unconfirmed

These readings come from fans or from us, and Rockstar has not confirmed any of them. Each has its own page with the case for and against.

The last one comes from GamesRadar+, which counted two nods to Phil Collins in the Extended Look; one is "Against All Odds" playing while Jason rides an elevator. Collins appeared as himself in Vice City Stories in 2006.

How we decide what counts as confirmed

We distinguish a Rockstar-named callback, such as the Vercetti Estate, from a returning object plainly visible in official material, such as a readable shirt or beer label. Visibility establishes the object, not Rockstar’s intent to reference a particular older game. If the link depends on a likeness, a colour scheme or a fan's reading, it goes in the theories table until Rockstar or the game confirms it. We do not use leaked footage for any of these pages. • Lucia's family came from Liberty CityRockstar's official bio says Lucia Caminos' mother has dreamed of the good life "since their days in Liberty City". One line ties GTA VI's lead to the series' oldest city, and it echoes how Vice City's own hero arrived in 1986.
• Ocean Beach and Washington Beach keep their Vice City namesRockstar's GTA VI copy reuses two district names from the 2002 Vice City map, Ocean Beach and Washington Beach, alongside new names that point straight at real Miami.
• Pißwasser and Logger Light return at Uncle Jack's LiquorsThe liquor store Jason and Lucia rob in Trailer 1 stocks two of GTA's house beers, each with a new twist: an alcohol-free Pißwasser Nein and a Logger Light Dreich, which carries a Scots word for miserable weather.
• The Cheetah Classic on Ocean Drive wears a CH33TAH plateThe white, Testarossa-style sports car parked in Trailer 1's neon street shot carries a green Leonida vanity plate that spells out its own name: CH33TAH. The car, and the plate, point straight back to Miami Vice and Vice City.
• The yellow-and-white '55 Stanier parked at the Ocean View HotelRockstar parks a two-tone '55 Vapid Stanier outside the Ocean View Hotel in the Vintage Vice City Pack. Vice City did the same with a yellow-and-white Oceanic in 2002, and both look like nods to the 1955 Oldsmobile outside Miami Beach's Avalon Hotel.
• Theory: "Love Is a Long Road" was picked as a joke about the waitTrailer 1 runs on Tom Petty's "Love Is a Long Road". Many fans read the choice as a double meaning: a song about Jason and Lucia, and a nod to the decade-long wait since GTA V.
