GTA 6 Customization: What Rockstar Has Actually Shown
Rockstar’s Editions page advertises clothes, tattoos, salon styles and vehicle modifications, mainly through Ultimate Edition extras. The Vintage Vice City Pack adds retro looks as a pre-order bonus for both editions. Rockstar has not explained the full customization systems or named equivalent shops for Standard Edition players.

What customization has Rockstar confirmed?
Rockstar has not published a customization feature list. What it has published is the contents of the two editions, and those describe a fair amount of customization. Everything in this table comes from Rockstar's Editions page, checked on October 20, 2026.
| What you change | Where | Rockstar's description | Who gets it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clothes | Stock 305 Clothing Store, Stockyard | "Elevated streetwear" with unique and exclusive looks for both leads | Ultimate only |
| Tattoos | Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor, Stockyard | Over 50 signature tattoos, designed by the art collective FAILE | Ultimate only |
| Hair, facial hair, makeup, nails | Sara's Unisex Salon | Signature salon styles for Jason and Lucia | Ultimate only |
| Car interiors, rims, donk styling | Rideout Customs Mod Shop | Turns ordinary cars into show cars | Ultimate only |
| Off-road mods, hand-painted art | One-Eyed Willie's Mod Shop, Lake Leonida | Off-road builds and hand-painted paintwork | Ultimate only |
| Outfits and tattoos | Vice City Style | Exclusive outfits, tattoos "and more" | Ultimate only |
| Macca the Gator apparel | Goodtime Gear | Apparel and accessories based on a Leonida TV character | Ultimate only |
| Weapon looks | Personalized Weapon Variants | Personalized versions of Jason's and Lucia's weapons | Ultimate only |
| Retro outfits, hairstyles, weapon pattern | Vintage Vice City Pack | 1980s-style looks for both leads and a tropical weapon pattern | Pre-order bonus, both editions |
Rockstar's wording for the four shops with descriptions on the page is that each is "only open for business with the Ultimate Edition".
[1][2]Can you change clothes in GTA 6?Unconfirmed
Yes. Clothes are part of both editions' bonuses, and the Extended Look shows the leads in many outfits. GamesRadar+ describes one scene in which Jason and Lucia get ready for a party at Brian Heder's place, with Jason awkwardly giving fashion advice in their apartment.
Some preview coverage says police descriptions include clothing. If accurate, outfit changes could matter when evading police, but the exact mechanic has not been documented by Rockstar. Our GTA 6 wanted system guide covers what has been shown.
The open question is where Standard Edition players shop. Rockstar has named only the Ultimate store, Stock 305, so the number and names of ordinary clothing stores are unknown until launch.
[1][4][5]Are there tattoos and haircuts in GTA 6?
Yes, at least for Ultimate Edition owners. Rockstar's captions for Electric Fang show Lucia with a buzz cut being tattooed on her thigh by an artist in a white ski mask, and a large tattoo covering most of Jason's back. The Sara's Unisex Salon images show Jason with a mullet and Lucia having her nails done.
Rockstar says the salon offers facial hair for Jason and makeup and nails for Lucia. It has not said whether the Standard game has its own barbers and tattoo parlors, or how many styles they would have. GTA has had both in earlier games, but nothing official confirms them for GTA VI yet.
[1][3]Can you customize cars in GTA 6?
Yes. Rockstar has named two mod shops, both Ultimate only. Rideout Customs does detailed interiors, big rims and donk styling, the lifted look of South Florida car culture. One-Eyed Willie's, in Lake Leonida, does off-road modifications and hand-painted artwork.
Two other Ultimate items involve car work. The Ganado Retro Build is a custom version of Jason's pickup, and the Classic Car Collection has you find and restore abandoned classic cars for a collector called Wyman. Rockstar has not named a mod shop that Standard Edition players can use, and it has not shown the mod menu itself.
[1]Which customization items are Ultimate Edition only?
All five named shops, Vice City Style, Goodtime Gear and the Personalized Weapon Variants are Ultimate only. The retro outfits and hairstyles in the Vintage Vice City Pack are a pre-order bonus for both editions.
Rockstar describes the Ultimate items as "an exclusive collection of items threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story", but it has not said when each item becomes available. If you are deciding whether the shops are worth the extra cost, our guide to whether the Ultimate Edition is worth it has the prices and the upgrade options.
[1]What we don't know yetUnconfirmed
Rockstar has not announced:
- Which clothing stores, barbers and tattoo parlors exist for Standard Edition players.
- Whether there is a general mod shop open to everyone, and what it can change.
- Whether you can change Jason and Lucia's bodies, such as weight or muscle, as in San Andreas.
- Whether outfits can be saved and swapped quickly.
Jason and Lucia are the announced protagonists. Rockstar has not announced a story-mode character creator. The full picture arrives on November 19, 2026, and we will update this page from the released game.
