GTA 6 Pre-Order Australia: EB Games, JB Hi-Fi, Big W and Amazon Prices

How much is GTA 6 in Australia?

The PlayStation Store charges A$129.95 for Standard and A$159.95 for Ultimate, and the Xbox Store lists Standard at A$129.95 too. Retail boxes, which are Standard only, came in a little cheaper on 20 October 2026:

| Retailer | PS5 | Xbox Series X|S | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Big W | A$125 | A$125 | Pre-order, marked online only | | JB Hi-Fi | A$129 | A$129 | Pre-order, delivery and pickup from 12 November | | PlayStation Store | A$129.95 | - | Ultimate A$159.95 | | Xbox Store | - | A$129.95 | Ultimate Edition Upgrade A$30 | | EB Games | Listing not verified | Listing not verified | Site blocked our checker | | Amazon AU | Listed, price not verified | Listed, price not verified | Listings say "Currently unavailable" to us, but we were outside Australia |

Both chains undercut the console stores: by A$4.95 at Big W and 95 cents at JB Hi-Fi.

Can you pre-order GTA 6 at EB Games?Unconfirmed

EB Games Australia has product pages for GTA VI on PS5 and Xbox Series X in search results, but its site showed our checker a security screen on 20 October, so we could not read a price, deposit amount or stock status. Listing not verified.

EB is the one chain where people ask about deposits, because it has long taken pre-order deposits in store. If you are going in person, ask whether the deposit is refundable and when the box can be collected. Rockstar says retail copies become available for shipping and pickup from 12 November.

What should you know about Big W?

Three details from Big W's own pages:

• Check pickup at checkout. Big W describes the product as online only and currently unavailable in stores, while its description says pre-orders may be delivered or picked up from November 12. Confirm your available delivery or pickup option before paying.
• Price drops are refunded. If you pay upfront and the price drops on release day, Big W says it refunds the difference after release.
• Watch for Marketplace sellers. A third-party Marketplace listing for GTA VI on PS5 was priced at A$196.34 in the same search. Buy the listing sold by Big W itself.

Bring photo ID if you collect in store. Big W's page still says the Australian classification is unconfirmed, but the Australian Xbox Store now shows GTA VI as Restricted (R18+). Our age ratings guide covers the classification.

What is in the Australian box?

A download code, no disc. JB Hi-Fi says delivery and pickup start 12 November so the game can be installed early, and that the PS5 code only works on a PlayStation account registered to Australia. JB also notes there is no physical Ultimate Edition: boxed Standard owners can buy the upgrade on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store after using their code.

Retail pre-orders come with the Vintage Vice City Pack. The free month of GTA+ is for digital pre-orders only, according to Rockstar.

Can you buy a cheaper overseas code?

Not safely on PlayStation. Rockstar places Australia in its "Rest of EMEA and Asia" PlayStation code group, and Australian retailers say their PS5 codes are for Australian accounts. A US or UK code will not work on an Australian PlayStation account. Rockstar says Xbox codes are not region-locked, but it still recommends buying in the same country as your account.

When can Australians play?

Boxes ship or can be collected from 12 November, when pre-load opens, and the game unlocks on 19 November. Australia is one of the first places to reach launch day, and the AEST, AWST and other Australian unlock times are in our release time guide. For the full launch schedule, see the GTA 6 release date page. Not sure which edition to buy? Is Ultimate worth the extra A$30 walks through it, and our pre-order guide covers bonus cut-offs.
