GTA 6 Story and Missions: Everything Rockstar Has Shown
Rockstar has not published a GTA VI mission list. Here is the official story setup, who hands Jason and Lucia work, and the mission scenarios shown in the trailers and the Extended Look, with story details behind spoiler warnings.

The official setup
Rockstar's pitch for GTA VI is short: "Vice City, USA. Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida."
You play as both. Jason Duval grew up around grifters, served in the Army and now works for drug runners in the Leonida Keys. Lucia Caminos is fresh out of Leonida Penitentiary and, in Rockstar's words, "committed to her plan". Rockstar has not published a mission list, a chapter count or the name of the score that goes wrong.
[1][2]Who hands out the work
Rockstar's character profiles name several people likely to give Jason and Lucia jobs. Rockstar describes the people, not the missions.
- Brian Heder, a veteran Keys drug runner, lets Jason live rent-free at one of his properties in exchange for help with local shakedowns.
- Boobie Ike runs a Vice City empire of real estate, a strip club and a recording studio, with Dre'Quan Priest as a partner at Only Raw Records.
- Raul Bautista is "a seasoned bank robber always on the hunt for talent ready to take the risks that bring the biggest rewards".
- Cal Hampton is Jason's friend and another of Brian's associates.
Each has a page in our wiki with the full official text.
[2]What the trailers show
Trailer 1 (December 2023) ends on the couple at work. PC Gamer's scene-by-scene breakdown describes Lucia and her partner "masked, roaming the aisles of a small narrow-corridor shop they're presumably intending to rob", then a getaway, then the pair storming a roadside shop with pistols raised.
Trailer 2 (May 2025) is mostly story setup. PC Gamer read one scene as Jason meeting Lucia on her release from prison. Neither trailer names a mission.
[3][4][5][6]The Extended Look: three jobs on camera
Rockstar's 26-minute Extended Look, released on August 27, 2026 and, by Rockstar's account, captured on PS5, is the closest thing to real mission footage so far. Press coverage from GamesRadar+ and Engadget describes three set pieces stitched together with montages: a pickup for Boobie Ike, a job from Brian Heder that becomes a getaway, and a security job at a corporate party. The details are in the spoiler sections below. Neither Rockstar nor the press gave any of them a mission title.
Between the jobs, the montages show what you do in the open world: gas station and convenience store robberies in bandanas, car theft, airboats, a gym, basketball, jet skis, kayaking, racing, clubbing and base jumping.

The pickup for Boobie Ike
Jason and Lucia walk into a run-down apartment complex to collect product for Boobie Ike. The press accounts give the contact's name differently. They find him in a room where a crew is cooking drugs, the deal is tense, and then a phone call warns that a police task force is on the way. The police come in shooting. Playing as Jason, with Lucia following and covering him, you fight down the corridors, and the pair escape through an elderly resident's apartment and out of the window, still carrying Boobie's goods.

Brian's rooftop party and the getaway job
At Brian Heder's rooftop party, Brian asks how the two ended up in their current situation, and a short flashback shows another job going wrong. He offers work that has to happen that night and needs only one of them. GamesRadar+ notes that Brian promises Jason more lucrative work than small-time robbery.
The job turns out to be a getaway. Jason and Lucia pick up Raul Bautista and the chase escalates. Engadget saw a six-star wanted level on screen while Jason shoots from the back seat at cop cars and helicopters. Control switches to Lucia at the wheel after Raul tells her she could be a "professional". Once they lose the police, they torch the car and switch to a van.

The corporate party
The last job has the pair working security for a wealthy client at a corporate headquarters opening. They get separated: Jason searches the building with Lucia in his earpiece, and her guns have been confiscated. Jason finds the client doing drugs with friends in an office away from the party, and then an armed crew attacks the building. Jason fights through it from cover, using a slow-motion aiming ability. Lucia, unarmed, fights hand to hand and stabs an attacker with her heel. The sequence ends with her being tackled down an elevator shaft.
[7][9][10]What the footage says about missionsUnconfirmed
These are observations from press coverage of official footage. Rockstar has not detailed any of them.
- Character switching inside a mission, from Jason to Lucia during the getaway, and between them in the open world.
- A six-star wanted level, the series maximum, on screen during the chase.
- More than one way to steal a car. GamesRadar+ saw prompts to smash a window or use a slim jim, and reported Rockstar saying carjacking options depend on tools and progression.
- Length. GamesRadar+ reported that one Rockstar developer's playthrough took about 80 hours. Rockstar has not given an official length.
What we do not know yet
Rockstar has not revealed the number of missions, how they are grouped into chapters, whether there are heists in the GTA V sense with planning and crew choice, whether missions are graded with medals as in GTA V and Red Dead 2, or how the story ends. Anything you read about these before November 19 is not confirmed, and we will not use material from leaked builds.
After launch this page becomes the hub for our mission entries: one page per mission, in story order, built from the released game. Titles and summaries will stay spoiler-free, with endings and twists behind spoiler warnings.
